Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (now iHeartMedia, Inc.) was founded in 1972 by Lowry Mays in San Antonio, Texas. The company became a global media and entertainment company specializing in mobile and on-demand entertainment and information services for local communities and premiere opportunities for advertisers. The Mays family sold the company in July 2008.
